Senior LEAD Line Cook
Hometown: Decatur, GA
Started in Hospitality: First Watch
From Decatur, GA, the youngest of 3 children, cooking has always found a way to Milton, even if he wasn’t looking for it. He always had a passion for cooking. Whether it was with his mother or grandmother, or classes in school, he enjoyed it- he was good at it. In school he excelled at sports, especially wrestling where he considered pursuing it collegiately. When he found himself unsure of what to do after high school, he decided to get a job at a restaurant, and from there his culinary journey began.
At the urging of a mentor, he took the leap from being a busser and became a cook. He committed to showing up and embracing opportunities to grow. That mindset has carried him through his journey in the kitchen, watching him develop from Line Cook, to LEAD, and now Senior LEAD, the first ever within the department, increasing his impact along the way.
Anyone that knows Milton knows that he has a big personality. He loves being with the team, making them smile and learning more about what they're doing. It’s not uncommon to see him in the Garden “late night”, talking to guests while hyping up his teammates, always trying to bring positive energy wherever he is. He wants to be the person the team can depend on and go to, regardless of the circumstances.
One of Milton’s proudest achievements is his ability to lift others as he climbs. For him, it’s not just about his own growth — it’s about sharing knowledge, mentoring new cooks, and setting the tone for what excellence looks like. He’s been a pivotal part in the training of new culinary team members, helping to define our standard for training, constantly giving him his time- hyping them up and making them welcome as they learn.
Milton credits several mentors with his growth and development. He credits his father who was in the Army for “showing him how to live” and teaching him about discipline. Chef Chadd for urging a busser to believe in himself. Then at Your 3rd Spot, Chef Stuart, and Chino challenging him, pushing him towards growth and consistency, never settling.
What Milton loves most about his current role is how it pushes him beyond the food. Each shift is an opportunity to connect with others, build stronger systems, and develop as both a chef and a leader. He’s also a champion of the culture at Your 3rd Spot — known for jumping in wherever needed and always having his teammates’ backs.
